About Computing @home

I bought my first PC in 1990 and within 2 months had it open and was installing more memory and an additional hard drive. Within 6 months I was using parts from the first PC in order to build a new one. I had built all my own PC’s ever since until recently when I purchased a new Dell 8200. That should tell you something about my opinion of Dell.

Over the past 17 years I’ve purchased, built, installed and maintained countless PC’s... including networking them. I’ve provided these services to employers, family and friends. I’ve probably spent more time on a PC and the Internet than I have sleeping. Over the past 10 years I've been doing the same professionally through my company, Computing @home.

I've hooked up just about every kind of hardware component to a PC you can imagine. Because of this I am very adept at dealing with the conflicts, etc. that can drive one crazy when attempting to upgrade or expand a PC or Network.

On the software side I’ve gone from the very simple MS DOS 3.3 to Windows Vista. From an operating system that was about 4 megabytes in size to those that are well over 100.

I’ve seen, first hand, just about everything a PC, Network and/or related software can do...both good and bad. I believe it’s this kind of first hand knowledge that makes me uniquely qualified to provide the kinds of products and services I am offering at Computing @home.

As a former Director of two non-clinical departments at Johns Hopkins I bring excellent  administrative as well as computing skills to the process. I am a former "end user" who has learned the intricacies of computer systems in order to get his own work done. This combination of administrative and computer skills is a combination few other IT professionals can provide you. Bottom line is that I provide products and services to help you get the job done, run your business and accomplish tasks efficiently and cost effectively.

 Customer Loyalty

Customers are loyal for one reason...you take care of them. After more than seven years in business, our customer retention rate remains at 100%. The recent move from Bel Air to Baltimore may cause me to lose some due to the distance factor. But no customer has or will be lost from dissatisfaction with my service. In fact, I've had customers move as far away as Ohio and still call me when they have a problem with their PC.
